Digital hall effect gauss meter to measure the magnetic field strength in a magnetized or demagnetized part.
Measure tangential field strength
The Tangential Magnetic Field Meter measures the magnetic field directly at the surface of the workpiece during magnetization. The tangential probe uses a Hall sensor to detect the voltage change produced by the applied field, providing a quantitative reading for process verification.
Evaluate AC and DC magnetic fields
The MPI Field Strength Meter measures both AC and DC magnetic fields across a range of ±400 A/cm. It calculates the true RMS value of asymmetric fields, supporting more representative measurements when the magnetic waveform is not perfectly symmetrical.
Select the preferred measuring unit
The Digital Gauss Meter displays field strength in kA/m, A/cm, Oe, mT or G. This multi-unit display allows the FSM-2 Gauss Meter to match the units required by different procedures, specifications and internal reporting systems.
Use battery or mains power
The FSM-2 operates with a 9 V battery or the supplied mains adapter. A charge-level indicator helps monitor battery status, while the backlit digital display improves readability during equipment checks.
Support industrial inspection environments
With the cover closed, the housing meets IP65 protection requirements. The enclosed design helps protect the Tangential Field Strength Meter against dust and water exposure during transport, storage and industrial use.
Connect to compatible data systems
An RS 232 interface allows the meter to connect with compatible external equipment or data systems. This feature can support documented field measurements and repeatable magnetic particle equipment verification processes.
Certifications and Compliance
The FSM-2 can support MPI equipment calibration and performance checks performed under procedures referencing ASTM E1444, ASTM E3024, ISO 9934 or Nadcap AC7114/2. Compliance depends on the complete verification procedure, calibration status of the reference instruments and required documentation.
